Also known as Shahpeer Sahab Ki Dargah, the Shahpeer Mausoleum is one of the oldest sites in Meerut, adding to the rich cultural heritage of the city. Standing tall as a significant monument of the Mughal era, it was commissioned in 168 by Empress Nur Jahan to honour Hazrat Shahpeer, a revered Sufi saint and royal advisor to Emperor Jahangir.

The monument is made with red sandstone and the tomb has beautiful intricate carvings and traditional Mughal architectural motifs. A part of the magnificent structure still remains incomplete till date, it lacks a roof due to sudden political shifts during the period as well as the untimely demise of Hazrat Shahpeer.

The mausoleum is situated in the Suraj Kund area which is another popular tourist site in Meerut and continues to hold a lot of religious significance. Every Ramadan, an annual fair is held here which attracts numerous devotees, reflecting the enduring spiritual importance of the site.

In 1829, a local named Rajaji constructed the Shahpeer Gate near the mausoleum to further enhance its prominence.

The site is open on all days of the week and the best time to visit is from October, with the onset of cooler months.
