The epic tale of Draupadi ki Rasoi
It is said that when the Pandavas were living in exile in Hastinapur, Lord Krishna once came to meet them. When he asked for food, Draupadi had nothing to feed him. It is believed that hearing this, Lord Krishna miraculously created a huge vessel that supplied delicious food in her kitchen. This is the place where she used to cook for the Pandavas and it is famous as Draupadi Ki Rasoi today.
Until 1952, Hastinapur was a forgotten village in Uttar Pradesh. Post that, the archeological department found Draupadi Ki Rasoi which is a popular picnic and tourist destination today. Not just this, after the place was discovered, the archeological department also unearthed copper utensils, gold and silver jewellery and several ivory dice and iron seals.
How to reach Draupadi Ki Rasoi
Draupadi ki Rasoi is around 39 kms away from Meerut. The place can be reached by car or taxi in about 40 – 45 minutes. Travelling here by train and bus is also an option.
