Meerut is gearing up for a new retail and shopping transformation as the iconic Abulane Bazaar near Begumpul prepares to expand into the underground section of the upcoming Begumpul Namo Bharat Station. The project is expected to create one of the city’s most modern underground commercial hubs, blending shopping, transit, and lifestyle experiences in the heart of Meerut.
With the rapid development of the Namo Bharat corridor in Meerut, the city is witnessing a new era of infrastructure and commercial growth. The underground retail expansion near Begumpul is expected to boost local business opportunities, increase footfall, and redefine the shopping experience for commuters and residents alike.
More Than 30 Shops Planned Inside Begumpul Station:
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has reserved approximately 3,178 square meters of commercial space inside the underground section of Begumpul station for retail and business purposes.
The NCRTC has invited tenders for licensing the entire commercial area. The selected company will have the rights to develop and rent out shops and outlets within the station premises.
According to reports, this commercial zone will accommodate more than 30 shops, including:
Retail outlets
Showrooms
Cafes
Food and beverage outlets
Convenience stores
Service centers
Footwear and fashion stores
Other lifestyle and retail businesses
The commercial license for the Begumpul underground market will initially be valid for 25 years, with an additional five-year extension option. Interested businesses and developers can apply through NCRTC Official Website or the Government e-Marketplace & Tender Portal.
This move is expected to attract major retail brands, local businesses, cafes, and service outlets to one of Meerut’s busiest future transit zones.
The Begumpul underground retail expansion is also expected to strengthen Abulane Bazaar’s position as one of Meerut’s top shopping destinations while bringing a metro-city style transit retail culture to the region.
