The Namo Bharat regional rapid transit system (RRTS) connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut has crossed a major milestone, completing over 2 crore commuter trips within just two years of operation, underscoring its growing popularity as a reliable and modern transit option for daily commuters across the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Namo Bharat corridor was inaugurated on 21 October 2023 with a 17-km priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This initial segment laid the foundation for the phased expansion of India’s first semi high-speed regional rail service.

As of late 2025, approximately 55 km of the corridor with 11 operational stations—from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South—serves passengers daily, with further extensions in the pipeline.

Why Are Commuters Choosing Namo Bharat?

- Improved Frequency

- Seamless Connectivity

Increasing numbers of daily riders are opting for this faster, reliable, and comfortable transit option for work, education, and other travel needs, reducing dependence on road transport and private vehicles.

With continued expansions, enhanced integrations, and rising public adoption, the corridor stands poised to transform daily travel and support sustainable urban mobility across the region.
