In a landmark moment for Uttar Pradesh’s urban development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 4th August inaugurated the state’s first-ever integrated township in Meerut — Atal Shatabdi Township. Spread over nearly 300 hectares, this project is set to transform Meerut’s urban landscape and position it as a model city for the future.
The township will be strategically located near the Delhi–Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor, offering residents and businesses direct access to high-speed connectivity with the National Capital Region.
The township is designed to be self-sufficient, blending residential, commercial, and recreational zones. CM Yogi emphasised that this township will not only modernise Meerut but also generate lakhs of jobs — directly through construction and indirectly via hospitality, retail, IT, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
It will strengthen Meerut’s position as a key NCR city, boost the sports goods manufacturing industry under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme and create a sustainable, future-ready city model that other UP cities can replicate.
The Atal Shatabdi Integrated Township is more than just a housing project — it’s a symbol of UP’s urban future, blending smart city infrastructure, economic growth, and sustainable living.
