The festival is celebrated after the second Sunday after Holi every year. Mandodari, the wife of Ravana, who was born in Meerut had immense faith in Goddess Chandi. Nauchandi Mela is celebrated in honour of Goddess Chandi every year for a whole month with handicraft stalls, food stalls, music, drama and more.

2. Boodha Babu Mela: Fairs and festivals in Meerut never end. As soon as Nauchandi Mela wraps, Boodha Babu Mela is organized by the Sardhana Municipal Corporation, generally in the month of June.

3. Garh Ganga Mela: The Garh Ganga Mela is an important religious festival that takes place in Garhmukteshwar during the month of November every year. Around 10 lakh people get together in the Mela to take a holy dip in the Ganges River during this festival.

4. Luv Kush Mela: Luv Kush ka Mela is held every year in Baghpat which is about 20 kms away from Meerut. The fair is organized within Valmiki aashram, the birthplace of Luv and Kush where Goddess Sita stayed during her exile. People gather in large numbers to honour Rishi Valmiki during the festival.
