Meerut's New Rs. 400 Crore Township Set to Transform Delhi Road

There is a good news for all residents of Meerut as the city is all set to get a new township. Rs. 409 on Delhi Road. For the development of this township, land for four villages is being purchased.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be performing the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ sometime after Chaitra Navratri. Plans are underway to develop this township in two sectors – phase 1 and phase 2. For this, the government has sanctioned the Rs. 409 crores to the account of Meerut Development Authority (MEDA).

As per agreement with the farmers, land has been purchased already in the four villages of Mohiuddinpur, Chhajjupur, Kayastha Gaongri and Ikla on the basis on consent. 100 hectares have been purchased. Both sides of the township have been divided into 31 sectors. The township will feature residential, industrial, and commercial zones within the same premises. The development work is expected to start in one month whereas the plot allocation will begin in two months.

In phase 1 of purchasing, the target is to buy 111 hectares of Mohiuddinpur and 30 hectares of Chhajjapur. In phase 2, Kayastha Gaongri and Ikla will be bought. Apart from the funds received from the government, MEDA also has an additional Rs. 350 crores from its infrastructure funds. Future installments of Rs. 450 crores will also ensure smooth development.
