The Nauchandi Mela is an annual fair held in Meerut every year at the Nauchandi ground. The significant event is known for Hindi Muslim unity and here, worship at the old Chandi Devi Mandir and offerings at the dargah of Wale Miyan are done every year.

Now, it is a good news for Meerut residents as the currently ongoing Nauchandi Mela dates have been extended on demand. With the consent of the mela committee, Meerut DM has ordered to organize the fair till June 30.

Sprawling across several kilometers, the Nauchandi Mela hosts 50,000 visitors daily. The vibrant fair features a mix of handicraft stalls, thrilling rides and the highlight – the Patil Mandap where a rich array of cultural programmes related to music, dance, bhajans, poetry, folk, ghazals and kathak take place every year.

This year, the mela began on May 26 with a ‘Mata ki Chowki’ and has seen performances from famous personalities in the arts and entertainment industry like poet Shambhu Shankar, the renowned Sadho Band, Maithili Thakur and more. Over the years, artists like Poonam Shri and AK Magnet have also performed at the show making it a major attraction in the city.

The mela remains a much-anticipated confluence of religious fervor, artisan craftsmanship, amusement, and culture, mirroring Meerut’s rich legacy and communal harmony.
