World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 and this year, the theme is ‘Ending Plastic Pollution.’

With this, it is crucial to spotlight organizations in Meerut that are making significant strides in environmental conservation. Here are 4 NGOs whose dedicated efforts deserve recognition:

1. Environment Club: Environment Club is a youth community founded by Mr. Sawan Kumar Kanojia. The foundation has been working for environment protection for the past 9 years and organize regular cleanups to prevent the environment from degradation.

2. Janhit Foundation: Janhit Fundation was set up in Meerut in the year 1998 by Mr. Anil Rana. The organization works to ensure sustainable living in the region as the state concerning water management, agricultural yield quality and soil quality.

3. Angry Youth NGO: Angry Youth NGO was started in the year 2011 by Mr. Shubham Gupta to help the needy and work for their welfare. Apart from undertaking human awareness programmes like ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ and helping the less fortunate, the organization also plays an important role in animal welfare and wildlife conservation.

4. Boond Foundation Trust: Boond Foundation Trust was established in the year 2019 with a mission to conserve water and protect the environment. Since inception, the team has grown to over 30 dedicated members and has successfully undertaken many environmental awareness programmes all across Meerut.
