In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s road infrastructure, construction on the 594-km-long Ganga Expressway, a high-speed corridor connecting Meerut and Prayagraj, has been officially completed and is now all set for inauguration.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), the inauguration is likely to take place between March 25 and March 31. The state government is planning to approach the Prime Minister’s Office to invite Narendra Modi to inaugurate one of the longest expressways in the country.
Once operational, the Ganga Expressway is expected to reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from nearly 12 hours to just 6–7 hours, transforming long-distance road travel across the state. Designed as a high-speed, access-controlled expressway, the corridor will allow seamless movement for both private vehicles and commercial traffic.
The expressway passes through several districts, enhancing connectivity for towns and rural regions along its route, and is poised to become a key economic artery for western and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
For daily commuters, businesses, and travelers, the Ganga Expressway promises smoother drives, reduced fuel costs, and safer journeys. For Uttar Pradesh, it marks another milestone in building a fast, connected, and future-ready transport network.
As the inauguration window approaches, all eyes are now on the official launch that will open this landmark expressway to the public.
